MachShip October Release 2026

MachShip’s October release makes Journey planning and editing simpler, with Suggested Journeys and helps you focus on the consignment activity that matters.

Choose your multi-carrier route with less guesswork, then keep it moving as shipment requirements change.

MachShip’s October release takes the guesswork out of everyday shipping. Plan multi-carrier Journeys from suggested routes, see why a carrier didn’t quote, and repack a consignment without re-keying its items.

It also makes Journeys easier to change after booking, cuts consignment-message notification noise, and brings notes and system events into one clear Activity timeline. Advanced Branded Tracking is back too, with opt-in marketing that never gets in the way of delivery tracking.

Here’s what’s new and why it matters.

Enhanced Journeys

Suggested Journeys: compare routes, not just individual legs

Planning freight across multiple carriers means knowing how the legs fit together — which depots to use, which carriers connect them, and how the options compare.

Suggested Journeys brings those choices into one planning workflow. Enter your shipment details and MachShip suggests up to five end-to-end routes via a depot, with carrier and depot combinations, rates and transit times to help you make a more informed choice.

  • Generate suggested Journey routes from your shipment details
  • Review the carriers and depots across the route
  • Compare rates and transit times before selecting your preferred Journey

If no route is suggested, you can still plan the Journey manually.

It’s a more accessible way to plan multi-carrier freight, reducing the need to construct every route from expert knowledge while keeping the final choice with your team.

Journey Editing: adapt without starting again

Shipment requirements change. Your Journey should be able to change with them.

Journey Editing lets you update more of an existing Journey without rebuilding it. Change locations, swap a depot or update items, then re-price and re-route the legs affected by the change.

  • Edit pickup and delivery locations or change the depot
  • Update leg details and item information
  • Re-price and re-route affected legs when locations, items or shipping requirements change
  • Override pricing on individual legs, for users who can override sell or cost prices

Locations can’t be changed on legs that are already manifested.

Together, these enhancements make Journeys easier to plan and more flexible to manage. Journeys remains an add-on feature; access depends on enablement and the relevant permissions.

More control over consignment conversations

Notification preferences: focus on the messages that matter

Not every consignment message needs your attention. Internal updates and record-keeping can create extra alerts, particularly when you’re watching consignments across multiple clients.

4PL users with Case Management Lite can now choose their consignment-message notification preference under My profile → Notifications:

  • All messages, including internal messages
  • Client initiated messages only
  • No message notifications

Your preference applies across the consignments you watch. You remain a watcher and retain access to permitted messages, the change controls notifications, not visibility.

A clearer Activity timeline, with history retained

Consignment context should stay accessible, even when your messaging subscription changes.

The updated Activity experience brings notes and system events into a chronological timeline, with All, Notes and System filters to help you find what you need. If Case Management Lite is switched off, historical messages and replies remain available to read, and existing message attachments can still be downloaded.

Existing permissions remain unchanged. Sending messages, replying and managing watchers still require Case Management Lite. Writing notes works as it does today, with or without Case Management Lite.

Faster answers on everyday consignments

Explain Results: see why a carrier didn’t quote

When a carrier or service you expected is missing from your pricing, the next step is usually guesswork or a support ticket.

Explain Results shows which carriers and services MachShip checked when pricing your consignment or quote, and why each was or wasn’t returned.

  • Click Explain Results after pricing on the Consignments or Quotes screen
  • See whether each carrier account and service was included, excluded or errored, with the reason and details
  • Filter by outcome to focus on what’s missing

Spot rate or zone gaps yourself, or share the reason and details with support. What you see depends on your role’s permissions. Administrators turn it on in Roles → Consignments → Explain Routes → View.

Repack: move items onto new packages without re-keying

Cartons get consolidated onto a pallet. Re-entering every item, dangerous goods declaration and international contents line takes time and invites errors.

Repack in Edit copies the original item details onto your new packages.

  • Compare your new packages with the original item count, weight and volume
  • Copy across Items (including DG), Contents or None
  • Get a warning if the new packages don’t have enough capacity

Then generate routes, choose a route and save. Reprint your labels so the carrier scans the right details. Repack works on unmanifested consignments in the standard Edit page.

Advanced Branded Tracking update

Recipient preferences, without losing delivery tracking

Advanced Branded Tracking is back with an update. Retailers can promote their products on the tracking page to recipients who have asked to see them.

Product offers, video and images appear only after a recipient opts in, through a prompt that names the retailer’s brand. Recipients can opt out of marketing at any time from the unsubscribe link, and delivery tracking continues. Replying STOP to an SMS stops all texts.

Consent is stored per brand, so a recipient’s choice for one brand doesn’t affect another. Before any marketing shows, the retailer completes the Marketing Consent section in the tracking page builder with their legal name, trading name and unsubscribe email.
