Customer Spotlight

InXpress Australia

InXpress sought a technology partner that could offer a broader suite of domestic freight options – without requiring a complete overhaul of their internal technology systems.

  • 50+ franchisees in Australia
  • $3.5 million in revenue through MachShip in under 11 months
  • Secured an enterprise client worth ~$250,000 (approx.) annually to a franchise owner

The Challenge

With a strong presence in international courier services and over 50 franchisees across Australia, InXpress has already built a profitable business model. However, their growth was limited by a gap in domestic freight solutions and franchisees were increasingly frustrated by the inability to service customers with heavyweight freight needs – particularly pallet and full truckload deliveries.

Jason Hand, who supports the network from InXpress’ Asia Pacific head office, described the issue as:

“We were missing out on share of wallet with our customers because we needed to expand our solutions.”

As a result, InXpress was leaving revenue on the table. Customers looking for an end-to-end freight solution were sometimes forced to go elsewhere for their domestic shipping needs. This pain point became a recurring theme in conversations between franchisees and the head office team, prompting InXpress to explore their options.

The Solution

To solve the problem, InXpress sought a technology partner that could offer a broader suite of domestic freight options – without requiring a complete overhaul of their internal technology systems. After conducting due diligence, they selected MachShip for its extensive API library, which connects to a wide range of heavyweight and full truckload carriers.

The partnership started with a white-label arrangement: franchisees were issued separate logins to access MachShip’s platform, while continuing to use Webship Plus for courier shipments. This dual-system setup allowed InXpress to test the model before deeper integration. Given the early success, the team is now moving forward with a full integration of MachShip’s APIs into Webship Plus, scheduled for 2025.

Jason reflects:

“We started with 14 carriers and are now expanding. Being able to plug those APIs directly into our software is a game-changer.”

Seamless Onboarding, Seamless Support

One of the standout elements of the MachShip partnership has been the onboarding and ongoing support. For Jason, who has worked with internal and external tech teams for years, the difference was immediate and clear:

“If I didn’t get a response from the MachShip team within 15 minutes, I’d wonder if I’d even sent the email.”

From initial setup through to technical integrations and day-to-day support, the experience has been consistently strong. Whether it’s integrating warehouse management systems, enterprise platforms, shopping carts, or inventory tools, MachShip’s responsiveness and expertise have allowed InXpress to move quickly and confidently.

“They’ve become part of how we operate. It’s not just a platform – it’s a true partnership.”

Real Business Impact

The partnership with MachShip has already delivered major commercial results. In under 11 months, InXpress generated $3.5 million in new revenue via MachShip. That alone is a significant outcome – but the impact goes further.

One standout example involves a large enterprise customer that InXpress was able to win because of MachShip’s capabilities. The client required multiple complex integrations, including with their WMS, ERP, eCommerce platform, and inventory systems. Without MachShip, InXpress wouldn’t have been in a position to compete for this business.

“That deal alone could be worth $250,000 annually to one of our franchise owners. We wouldn’t have had a chance without MachShip.”

Industry Buzz

The success of the integration hasn’t gone unnoticed in the freight world. According to Jason, MachShip has become a hot topic in industry circles:

“MachShip is the buzzword in the industry. If we’re not using them directly, we’re exploring enterprise integrations with them.”

The reputation MachShip has earned among franchisees and freight professionals has made them a standout in a crowded market. InXpress’s experience has added to this momentum and is now helping to drive MachShip’s expansion into new territories, including New Zealand.

“We pushed hard for them to jump the pond, and now they’re meeting with our franchise owners in NZ. We’ll be one of their first customers over there.”

Looking Ahead

As InXpress looks to the future, the roadmap is clear. Full integration of MachShip into Webship Plus is planned for 2025, further streamlining operations for franchisees and customers alike. The expansion into New Zealand marks a new phase of growth for both companies.

Jason believes the model they’ve developed sets the stage for long-term success:

“We put our money where our mouth is. This isn’t just about adding new tech – it’s about delivering a better experience for our network and our customers.”

With a strong foundation in place and momentum building, the InXpress–MachShip partnership demonstrates what’s possible when technology and business strategy align.
